Deeply rooted Christian and Family Values
Background- Life-long East Tennessee native, which means I have a strong understanding and interest in the past, present, and future of Knox County.
- Resident & homeowner in Knox County’s District 5 for 30+ years, which means I am fully vested in the success of the area.
- Married to Douglas Russell for 29 years with two children, Savannah and David, both of whom graduated from Farragut High School. This means I have experience with the Knox County educational system, which is a major part of the Knox County budget.
- My father was a Baptist Minister, and I am a long-term member of First Baptist Concord with deeply rooted Christian and family values.
- Life-long Republican
Proven leadership and effective results opposing Choto Landing, a proposed high-density government subsidized development.
Education & Experience- Graduated with highest honors from the University of Tennessee in Accounting. Obtained Tennessee State Board of Accountancy Certified Public Accountant License #10359. This equips me to understand accounting, budgets, and financial management.
- Tennessee Real Estate Appraiser Commission Certified General Real Estate Appraiser License #4236. Obtained Appraisal Institute MAI designation. This gives me a better understanding of real estate, its development, and its effect on our community.
- Employment experience in public accounting, private business accounting and management, & real estate appraising.
- 2016: Helped stop a proposed “pill mill” on Choto and Northshore.
- 2020: Numerous terms on subdivision HOAs & a founding member of the Northshore-Choto HOAs group. The Northshore-Choto HOAs group was formed to address road safety, lack of infrastructure, and concerns about high density changing the character of our community.
- 2023: History of advocating for better roads. farragutpress
- 2023: History of advocating for responsible development. Proven leadership & effective results in opposing Choto Landing, a proposed high density government subsidized development. I helped author the proposed Choto Landing development opposition website (see link), raise legal funds, make phone calls, put up signage, organize multiple community meetings, & I served as legal counsel point-person. https://www.chotolanding.com
Spend money wisely and expect results
Campaign Issues- Financially conservative. Spend money wisely and demand results.
- Expand infrastructure to meet current and future needs. Believe in responsible development which considers the impact on the existing community. Those profiting from the development should be paying for the infrastructure and not passing the cost to taxpayers.
- Address homelessness.
- Support law enforcement & community safety.
- Government transparency.
General Election: Early voting 07-12-2024 to 07-27-2024. Election Day 08-01-2024.
